Mission Statement

The Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, founded in 1879 to minister to homeless children of our City, have committed themselves to respond to the needs of the homeless of our day.

We support all efforts that empower women to a fuller participation in society and enhance their human dignity.

Recognizing the need of many homeless, single mothers and children, Siena House was founded in 1990 by the Sisters of St. Dominic and is sponsored by Tolentine-Zeiser Community Life Center.  Siena House is a temporary residence for families who are searching for suitable and affordable housing.

Open to all, regardless of race or creed, we seek to assist homeless women and their children to move from a situation of homelessness and poverty to independence and self-worth.
